Everything about this restaurant reflects why they would have earned a Michelin Star in 2025. The service, the food presentation, and then there is the food. Talk about a flavor explosion in your mouth with every bite, such mastery of combining ingredients and spices for the perfect outcome. I had the ginger shrimp appetizer and was blown away. Main course was equally great. Best meal I had in Greenville. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was tasty and the service was great. If you don’t have a reservation you can likely sit at the bar or bar tables! It is on the pricy side, but the restaurant has a calm and enjoyable atmosphere, whether it is date night, or you are going out to eat for a business meal. I’d recommend this spot and would come back again! Brussel Sprouts appetizer was delicious!
The reviews speak for themselves but this was one of the best reasons to visit Charlottesville. Service is great from Hostess to Servers all working together. Food was phenomenal. The Shrimp & Grits were truly amazing, Country Fried Steak was great, Crab Cake, Fried Green Tomato Benedict all would 100% order again! Sammy (spl?) drew us in when we bumped into her getting pre-shift coffee across the street and it was a meeting that led to a great meal. Will 100% be going out of our way for this meal again!
We came here for brunch on a Saturday. The food, service and atmosphere are all top notch!! We started with the Pecan Sticky Bun, then I had the Fried Green Tomato BLT and my husband had the Country Fried Steak both with Crispy Potatoes. Everything was delicious!! 10/10 recommend!!
What a great experience! We came in here for Sunday brunch. Jacob was our server and he gave some great recommendations and talked a bit about the restaurant and himself. I got the shrimp and grits and my wife got the Strawberry French toast. Both were delicious. The decor and character of the restaurant were both wonderful as well. Highly recommended!
Been wanting to try Soby's ever since we had their crabcake at Fall for Greenville. Tonight we did, and were not disappointed. We booked our reservation online and I had in the notes we wanted an outdoor table and that it was our anniversary. They did not miss a beat, and asked when we arrived if we still wanted to sit outside and gave us menus that said "happy anniversary" at the top. Our dessert also had a "happy anniversary" chocolate on top. Stefan our server was very nice and attentive. My wife said she would be friends with him! Haha. I came for the crabcakes, and they were delicious as expected, but the supporting cast made the meal. The cheesy biscuits, the mac and cheese (probably my favorite), mashed potatoes, and the key lime pie were all excellent. For $29 it was plenty of food and high quality. My wife's lemon drop was also very good, and better than most of the cocktail bars in Greenville. We will definitely be going back for drinks and dinner again in the near future.
Absolutely delicious. Everything from appetizers to main course to desserts was outstanding. And the number of choices on the menu made it very hard to decide. The she crab soup, shrimp & grits, crab cakes, truffle mac & cheese, spicy pimento & pita chips, sweet corn maque choux, sweet potato cheesecake, and southern buttermilk pie were all delicious. The atmosphere is very classy, relaxed, and romantic. The wines that we tried were very good as well and many to choose from. It seemed that everyone was really enjoying the wines. The level of service had a very personal touch and was outstanding as well. Really added to the overall experience. It's easy to see why they are Michelin rated. Highly recommend giving this place a try.
We sat at the bar high tops and had no wait time! I would get a reservation if you want a table on a Friday or weekend. This food was good. The cocktails were delicious and the flavors of all the meals we ordered were great. We got the chopped salad, drinks, complimentary bread, crab cakes, shrimp and grits, and fried chicken! I would recommend this to a group who likes modern southern cuisine.
The line to get in this place should be around the block. What an absolutely fantastic experience! We were seated on the gorgeous large patio and enjoyed the view near the center of town. The service was terrific, extremely attentive without being overbearing. We followed some of our waiter's recommendations which were great. Start with the first green tomatoes. The short ribs were tender and full of flavor. Cocktails and the key lime pie dessert were all wonderful. Don't miss this gem!
Wow!! First time visitor to Greenville and with the hundreds of options for food I am so very glad we picked Soby’s. Incredible cocktails and amazing food. We opted for the “TV Dinner: Top Chef inspired meal” and it was so delicious. Portions were so generous so we had plenty to take home. Great service by Sam our waitress! Will definitely be back next time!
